Kamil Dolezal was born in 1957. He studied clarinet at the Prague Conservatoire and Academy of Performing Arts under M. Kostohryz and M. Etlik and was awarded the 1st prize at the Dusek - Mozart competition in Prague in 1975. During the years 1987 - 1994 he was a permanent member and soloist for the Agon ensemble with whom he took part in prestigious new music festivals (Budapest, Berlin, London, Padua, Warsaw), and with whom he recorded two CDs. In 1988 he participated in summer courses in Darmstadt with Roger Heaton. In January 1995 he recorded his first solo CD entitled "Czech Contemporary Clarinet Music " which won the Classic '95 prize for the best recording of the year. He performs contemporary music almost exclusively at his solo concerts and as a leader of Ensemble MoEns.
